Conferences, Publications and Trade Shows

    • In February 2021, The Engineer published an article about Prometheus called ‘Prometheus drones to explore subterranean environments‘.
    • In January 2021, Thales published an article on their website about their partnership in Prometheus called ‘Ground breaking new role for autonomous drone technology‘.
    • In January 2021, University of Manchester’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, published a blog about their partnership in Prometheus and how it addressed the Network Rail cave challenge.
    • In December 2020, MDPI Robotics Journal selected Prometheus as their front cover from amongst 36 other contenders when they published a paper on Prometheus ‘The Design of Prometheus: A Reconfigurable UAV for Subterranean Mine Inspection‘ written by the team presenting the design.
    • In November 2020, Headlight AI attended the virtual Commercial UAV Show 2020 where we heard from speakers about new trends and emerging technologies.
    • In October 2020, our paper ‘Intelligent Exploration and Autonomous Navigation in Confined Spaces’ was accepted for publication and was presented at the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) Conference held in January 2021. The paper presents approaches that allows robots to make intelligent decisions by being self-aware and aware of dangers in its surroundings. This work will be fundamental to how the Prometheus drone reacts and plans its path in a confined space
    • In June 2020, Professor Sara Bernardini from Royal Holloway University of London participated in CogX, a conference on AI attracting more than 40,000 people this year. She was in the Research Stage “The Long View” organised by the Alan Turing Institute, in the panel “Collaborative Robotics and Autonomous systems”. Among other topics, she presented research carried out in the context of the Prometheus project.
    • In April 2020, Liam Brown PhD Researcher at University of Manchester presented Prometheus to the Robotics and AI in Nuclear (RAIN) Conference.
    • In March 2020, Dr Simon Watson of University of Manchester presented Prometheus to the European Robotics Forum in Malaga.
    • In November 2019, Callen-Lenz attended the Vertical Flight Expo trade show to raise awareness of Prometheus to the drone industry.
    • In October 2019, Headlight AI had a stand at the Railway Forum 2019 in Berlin and Dr Puneet Chhabra presented at the conference.
    • In October 2019, Dr Jameel Marafie and Dr Puneet Chhabra of Headlight AI attended the TechDay event in London, and Dr Jameel Marafie presented at the conference.
